I ran across a video courtesy of social media that showcased Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts reciting bible scripture John Chapter 13 Verse 7. This particular verse helped him navigate throughout his college career. The words from that verse are “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Now you may be asking yourself why is this scripture important and am I speaking about my journey? I am not talking about myself, however there is one person in particular that I am speaking of. Let me explain.

Over the years I have watched Central Pennsylvania native, Charlie Lux create opportunities to help achieve financial freedom. Some of those opportunities looked like her starting a boutique and a vodka line. Both were great ideas that helped create even more opportunities, yet throughout the process, a void lingered in the pits of her soul. Within the last two years, Charlie Lux has taken a new approach to life by servicing women through art and entrepreneurship. This is not the traditional paintbrush-to-canvas ministry. Charlie Lux instead found a passion for service through Permanent Makeup (PMU) which allows Charlie to do cosmetic tattooing to enhance facial features with pigment and this journey has been everything for her.

Anwar Curtis

Understanding your purpose is something some take a lifetimeto recognize but not Anwar Curtis. At an early age, he knew theimportance of his purpose.

A native of Harrisburg, PA, Anwar always respected his hometown, realizing its potential as a "small city with big city ambitions.”

In 2011, Anwar started his professional career in education, mentoring children from the City of Harrisburg. Anwar is a founder of the Harrisburg Music Festival, founded in 2012, and The Weekender in 2018, which are annual events that allow local businesses and entertainers to be seen on a major platform.

He is also one of the masterminds behind Levels Ready Entertainment, an entertainment company, which showcases and develops original content and events. Anwar Curtis has advanced his career by being an opinion contributor for publications such as Penn Live, Pennsylvania Capital-Star, and Soul Pitt Magazine and he enjoys informing the world about his perspectives.

Conversely, he also enjoys being educated from other writers’ points of view. Anwar Curtis also has a background in working with political campaigns. In 2021, Curtis was fortunate enough to gain experience working for the Otto Banks Mayoral Campaign, where he was the Director of Communications and the Campaign Treasurer.

In 2023, Anwar joined the Department of Environmental Protection to help serve the State of Pennsylvania one project at a time. Anwar’s main mission is to utilize each platform that he contributes to, by shining the necessary light on issues and achievements that normally get overlooked
